Learning OutcomesUnit NGC1 - Management of health and safety-Outline the scope and nature of occupational health and safety
-Explain the purpose and importance of setting policy for H&S

-Outline the legal and organisational H&S roles and responsibilities of all relevant parties
-Identify the factors which influence safety related behaviour at work
-Explain the aims and objectives of risk assessment
-Explain the role and function of a permit-to-work syste
-Carry out a workplace inspection and communicate the findings in the form of an effective and persuasive report
-Explain the purpose of, and procedures for, investigating accidents
Unit NGC2 - Controlling workplace hazards-Identify the hazards that may cause injury to pedestrians in the workplace
-Suggest ways of minimising manual handling risk
-Describe the main methods of protection from machinery hazards
-Identify fire hazards and evaluate mainfire risks in the workplace
-Recognise the forms of, and classification of, substances of hazard to health
Unit NGC3 - Health and safety practical application-The aim of this unit is to assess the candidates to complete and inspection and produce a report reccomending appropriate action.
