Overview

Absences cost business and organisations millions of pounds each year. The average UK employee takes 8.4 days off sick per year, or 3.7% of working time, and this accounts for around £650 lost revenue per employee (CIPD, July 2007); and whether a large or small organisation this is not an amount to be ignored.

Delegates will have time to stand back from the work environment and take a critical view of their current skills in handling absence; look at the crucial differences between types and frequencies of absence; examine and implement the most effective means of monitoring and measuring from a range of options.

Target Audience

This course is designed for new line managers or managers who have not previously dealt with absence management. It is also essential for those involved In any managerial capacity from supervisors to senior managers, who are ultimately responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures.
