Module A - Planning & Controlling the Project Schedule


Who is it for?
This course is designed for those with little knowledge or practical experience  of using Microsoft Project but who need to be able to plan, control and maintain Project Schedules.

Course Content
At the end of this course you will be able to:

Start Microsoft Project and work with its key screen features
List the essential things you must configure to optimize your use of the software
Understand the Project, Resource and Task Calendars
Creat a new project file
Understand key project management concepts and how these relate to Microsoft Project
Enter and work with task relationships
Set constraints and deadlines in a project
Set a project Baseline
Monitor and track progress for a project
Use project reporting
Print information from a project

What is it about?
Microsoft Project has become the de facto standard for software Project Planning tools in many organisations.  Its prevalence on the corporate desktop has led to wide scale usage by a diverse range of staff involved in all types of projects.  This course is designed to provide those who are new to Microsoft Project, or may have used the tool without formal training, with a structured overview of its scheduling  capabilities in a project environment.

Microsoft Project Modules A, B and C cover the exam syllabus for the Microsoft Certified Professional Exam No. 70-178: Microsoft Project 2010, Managing Projects
