TrainingAPMP for Prince2 Practitioners Having achieved accreditation, PRINCE2 Practitioners realise that whilst there are similarities between the Prince2 and APMP qualifications there are also a number of differences. Accordingly, many PRINCE2 Practitioners see the benefit in also achieving APMP accreditation.
The APMP is based on the Association's Body of Knowledge (BoK) and focuses on the skills which contribute to achieving success in projects. The APM has conducted a gap analysis between the two qualifications and identified those additional knowledge areas within the boK which are required to achieve the APMP for example:
- Project success & benefits management - Resource management - Budgeting & cost management - Procurement - People management
The course will provide you with all of the essential learning materials for achieving the APMP accreditation but by omitting those areas deemed "prior learning" PRINCE2 practitioners can save considerable time compared to others following the existing APMP training route. The examination is a modified version of the APMP consisting of fewer questions in recognition of the prior learning. Successful examination candidates will nevertheless have the same status as those following the existing route and will have demonstrated the knowledge required to be able to manage or take lead roles in projects large and small. The course is designed to be interactive and will utilise a case study, group discussions, syndicate exercised and knowledge tests to cover the required topics. The course is fully accredited and approved by the APM.
Prerequisites Delegates must hold a valid Prince2 Practitioner Certificate. Evidence is required for eligibility for the shortened APMP examination.
