APM Practitioner Qualification (IPMA Level C)
The APM Practitioner Qualification is for Project Managers, Project Co-ordinators and Team Leaders with more than three years experience of managing non-complex projects. This intermediate qualification is for project management practitioners who can demonstrate their ability to manage any non-complex project or run a key control function of a large scale project. The Practitioners Qualification (which is recognised by The International Project Management Association as ‘Level C’) is for any relatively experienced project professional seeking to demonstrate their ability to manage projects successfully.
Assessment Centre Structure The programme consists of an Assessment Centre which is attended over two and a half days (residential), where you will be engaged in:
- Individual work: You will be expected to answer written questions based on a case study and a question regarding current issues in project management.
- Group Work: Working in groups you will be observed discussing and solving problems related to the case study
- Interview: Candidates will be interviewed by their assessors
This Qualification assesses the candidate’s ability to apply project management skills and techniques to a non-complex project, or to assist in a more complex project. It will be assessed within the boundaries of a case study and is made up of 30 assessment criteria which will be provided in advance to delegates.
Assessors will collect evidence of a candidate’s project management capabilities through group activities and exercises as well as through written examination questions. Candidates will be observed discussing and solving problems relating to the project case study. In addition, all candidates will be interviewed by their assessor on an individual basis during the assessment centre programme.
Prerequisites 20|20 require candidates to have successfully achieved APM Professional (IPMA Level D) status before progressing to this APM Practitioner (IPMA Level C) assessment centre.
Target Audience This Assessment Centre is appropriate for individuals with at least 3 years experience in responsible leadership functions of non-complex projects (please call the 20|20 Business Support Team for guidance on complex versus non-complex projects) or who have been managed a key control function of a complex project.
