Project Management Professional (Nuclear)

Course Overview
This course, which has been accredited by The Association for Project Management (APM) and The Project Management (PMI) aims to provide a forum for Project Managers and members of project teams in the Nuclear Industry to gain exposure to Best Practice in Project Management methodology centred on a familiar environment -Decommissioning and New Build projects.

Using the professional standard of the 'Body of Knowledge' as the basis for the programme topics, the topics are addressed by demonstrating best practices and applying these to a relevant nuclear stimulation case study.  The application of the learning is better absorbed because of the familiarity of the context being covered.

The Nuclear specific 'Project Management Professional Programme' offers a choice of simulation case studies.  The first encompasses a typical nuclear "decommissioning" project and the activities and considerations, or a case study focusing on a "new build" project and the challenges and activities involved.  Each case study delves into project requirements from concept stage through to closeout, ensuring its relevance for course participants in their place of learning and in the workplace.

The course is delivered as a 4 Day Workshop.  Delegates seeking a project management qualification should also book onto the appropriate exam preparation workshop.  Delegates will be provided with pre-course access to 12 hours of eLearning content, familiarising themselves with the basics of project management.
